What is your dream job? I wish to have a job in the research field or in a lab setting. I have always loved science and hope to pursue a job that I enjoy while also being able to find ways to help people through scientific developments.
Who was your favorite teacher or administrator during your time at TMHS? What subject did they teach? What made her or him special?
Each staff member at TMHS is special in their own way. They are all willing to help their students. However, for me, my favorite teacher was Ms. Williams. Ms. Williams was an English teacher. What makes her my favorite teacher is that no matter what she never puts a student down. Ms. Williams’ classroom is decorated with quotes that help inspire students and encourage them to do their best. Ms. Williams also keeps her classes organized and in check with her sarcasm.
What is something about TMHS that people might not know, but should?
TMHS is a wonderful place that allows students to grow. I feel that the AP classes and UConn classes are often overlooked. Students do not realize the money-saving opportunity that Tourtellotte offers to some students.
What advice would you give to next year’s ninth grade students coming to TMHS?
My advice for the upcoming ninth graders is that they should not be afraid of the upperclassmen. If you need help ask someone. Even if you do not feel comfortable asking a stranger, you can always ask your teachers. They are there to help you. Your teachers may even introduce you to an upperclassmen that they think can help you. Take advantage of all the help you can get from Tourtellotte.
What makes TMHS special? Why?
TMHS is a great place to learn and improve. The small class sizes make it easy for the teachers to keep track of their students and make sure no one student slips through the cracks.
